HOLLYOAKS star Daisy Wood Davis has hit back after cruel followers mum-shamed her for allowing her son to wear a dress. The actress, who appeared as Kim Butterfield on the Channel 4 soap, opened up on Instagram about her son, Asa's, curiosity about dresses while at pre-school. Sharing a message sent to her by the pre-school, Daisy said how happy she was that her two-year-old was allowed the opportunity to try on a dress, joining in singing and dancing with pals.

She added his curiosity stemmed from a group of four-year-olds who had previously told him "boys don't wear dresses" while playing at a play village. She wrote: "I feel so passionate about this, not just in case Asa wants to wear a dress one day but to make sure he is never the child who bullies or puts another down for being ‘different’ which seems to happen from such a young age it’s scary! "I can’t believe children’s innocence is taken away so early by gender normative views which doesn’t necessarily mean a homophobic parent is at home but it’s a parent that doesn’t care enough to actively bring it up and discuss it with their child. Rant over.

" Daisy added: "I should also add he wasn’t wearing a dress in the play village. He was with his Nana but I believe he was also merely looking at the dressing up items when the boys needed to tell him this ‘fact’. " However, it didn't take long for trolls and followers to hit back at Daisy for allowing Asa to wear a dress - something she was quick to shu.
