Helen George on what the future holds for Trixie in Call The Midwife Helen George is celebrating a huge milestone as the Call the Midwife star turns 40 on June 19. The BBC actress is yet to give any insight on how she has marked the big day. Earlier this month, she attended Glyndebourne Opera House and shared some photos on Instagram , which led fans to comment on her youthful appearance.

The actress was born in Birmingham with her father being a political science professor and her mother a social worker. The actress also has a sister, Elizabeth, who is a vet. Growing up in Hampshire, she studied ballet as a child and had a passion for sport.
However, at the age of 15, she decided she wanted to work in musical theatre after she saw a production of Les Misérables. She starred in a play called The Woman in White and took on some singing jobs before being cast as Trixie in Call the Midwife in 2012. It was on this set that she had her first co-star romance with Jack Ashton.
