MOORHEAD — Heavy rains have pushed the Willie Nelson & Family concert at Bluestem Amphitheater to Wednesday, May 22. The venue, located in south Moorhead on Highway 75, is situated along the Red River, and provides an enchanting spot for watching a concert, but rain has turned the venue's limited parking to a muddy mess, and the amphitheater offers little cover for attendees, who are also not allowed umbrellas. Tuesday's concert was to be the second of two sold out shows by Willie Nelson, who returned to the venue almost a year to date from his last performance in Moorhead.
On Monday, the country music icon packed 20 classics into a tight one-hour set that thrilled a sold-out crowd of 3,498, where Willie Nelson & Family also performed twice last year. The promoter, Jade Presents, is offering a window of time to obtain a refund for ticket holders who are not able to attend the rescheduled date. They have until noon on Wednesday, May 22, to request a refund.
For Wednesday's concert, gates will still open at 5 p.m., and the show will start at 7 p.
m. All tickets purchased for the original date will be honored for the new date, according to the promoter. "We deeply appreciate your understanding and flexibility in this situation.
Your cooperation is instrumental in helping us maintain a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees. We look forward to a memorable event with Willie Nelson & Family." Due to the heavy rains, parking adjustments will be made, and the usual grassy.
