Heart-breaking tributes have been paid to a young man who was "the one true Kernow king" who passed away in . His loved ones and friends have poured their hearts out after losing Kainan Dayus, known as Kainan Kernow, at the age of just 28. Known also as Kain and from Alverton, , but originally from , he died on June 11 and an inquest has now been opened and adjourned for a full hearing to take place at a later date.

Kain, who passed away at Penzance, "will be greatly missed by his mum Michaela, sisters Lucy, Shannon and Taiya, nieces Alissiya, Ava, Aisla and Zennor, nephews Dylan and Kitt, dad Jason and all of the Dayus family, and, of course, his many friends", a funeral notice says. The celebration of Kainan's life will be held at Treswithian Downs Crematorium, , on Saturday, July 6, at 12 noon. Touching tributes have been share since his sad loss, led by Kain's mother, Michaela Evans, who shared: "He loved to sing, prank people, make up his own jokes and spend time with family and friends.

He was loved and gave love, both in abundance. I'm grateful to him. He will leave a massive hole.

I grieve quietly but I will remember him loudly. You're at peace now, my boy." She also wrote: "He was a fierce warrior but also a Mummy's boy and didn't care who knew it.
