Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been warned that they could be "throwing themselves under the bus" if the duke decides to publish a second book after his explosive memoir Spare. Royal commentator Pandora Forsyth discussed the potential of another bombshell release, suggesting it would exacerbate the already tense relations with the Royal Family , who were not portrayed favourably in Harry's first literary outing. Rumours have been circulating about a possible second instalment of ' Spare' , as well as a standalone memoir by Meghan Markle, the Express reports.
In her interview with Sky News Australia, Forsyth expressed doubts about the need for a sequel, given the Sussexes' financial independence bolstered by the initial success of Harry's tell-all memoir . She remarked: "So if they were to do a follow-up, given the fact that they're now financially independent on very very good terms because Spare did so well initially, I don't see why they would [release a second]. "It would almost be throwing themselves under the bus by doing that, [especially] in terms of trust but of course, many people would read it and if they want the money, then that's obviously the way to do it.
" 'Spare' hit the shelves in January 2023 and quickly became the UK's fastest-selling non-fiction title, according to publisher Penguin Random House. Financial reports from the Daily Mail suggest that Prince Harry has raked in an estimated £22 million [$27 million] from the sales of 'Spare'. Get the lates.
