Thursday, May 30, 2024 Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) has announced that the Haramain High Speed Train will operate a total of 3,800 trips during the current Hajj season, significantly enhancing travel services for pilgrims. The number of available seats has been increased to 1.6 million to accommodate the expected record number of pilgrims this year.
Operational Plan and Increased Capacity Readiness for Hajj Season: SAR has revealed its comprehensive operational plan for the Hajj season, emphasizing the readiness of the Haramain Train to receive pilgrims. The train services are operating through five key stations along its 453-kilometer route, linking Makkah and Madinah. The main stations include Jeddah’s Sulaymaniyah district, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and King Abdullah Economic City.
Expanded Capacity: The operational plan includes an additional 100,000 seats compared to the previous year, increasing the total to 1.6 million. This expansion is facilitated by adding more than 430 new trips, bringing the total to 3,800 trips during the period from Dhul Qada 1 (May 9) to Dhul Hijjah 19 (June 25).
On peak days, the number of trips will reach 126.
