A NEW nightlife experience is set to launch in the heart of Halstead and its founder says is “overwhelmed” with the positive response to its forthcoming exclusive opening launch event. Bamboo Essex, a new bar and restaurant, in 24 High Street, is set to have its launch event on June 29 at 8pm to a VIP guestlist. Dean Curtis, 53, who grew up in Hedingham and later moved to Halstead, is the founder of the 130 to 150 capacity venue.

He’s gained a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector after starting in the industry at 24, before pursuing other career paths, and now returning to the industry. “There’s nothing like this for miles around here. “I’m excited but apprehensive about the launch, the response we’ve had is quite overwhelming, everyone has bombarded us asking how to get on the guest list for the opening night.” Boss - Dean Curtis behind the bar at Bamboo Essex (Image: Newsquest) Colourful - the wallpaper at Bamboo Essex (Image: Newsquest) Beautiful.
