A gunman who shot another man in an alleyway was cornered by armed police in Wales. Jesse Dyche was finally caught the day after he gunned down a man in the street. The 27-year-old had fled to Wales after the shooting in Bentilee, Stoke-on-Trent.

In a premeditated attack, he worked with accomplice Stephen Thorogood and teenager Ethan Beech served as the getaway driver. The man was left needing surgery after being gunned down in the attack. All three defendants were given prison sentences for their roles in the shooting, which took place around 3pm on a Wednesday last August.

The motive behind it has not been disclosed. He needed surgery for broken leg bones. CCTV footage showed Dyche, of Leek Road, Stoke-on-Trent, carrying a firearm. Beech, 18, of Fell Street, Smallthorne, drove Dyche and Thorogood, 45, away in a Vauxhall Insignia which was later found abandoned on nearby Pillar Close.

The footage showed the trio driving around in a Ford Focus before changing into dark clothing and getting into the Vauxhall to travel to the scene of the attack.
