Grimsby Town fans were queueing from early this morning to be among the first to get their hands on the "beautiful" new home shirt. The 2024/25 Mariners kit, the first by the club's new technical kit suppliers Umbro, involved proud Grimbarian Luke Matthews, brand director of size?, who has worked closely with Town on the strip. The club say the shirt "takes its inspiration from past kits and has a distinctive retro 90s feel".

Among the details are the return of red pin stripes, white sleeves and a 'heritage collar'. Grimsby Town say supporters were lining up from around 6.30am to be the first to snag the new shirt which has attracted rave reviews since it was unveiled earlier this month in a promotional video featuring many of the club's fans, along with famous faces including Grimsby actor Thomas Turgoose, players Doug Tharne and Danny Rose, and members of the women's team.
