Greenwich has ‘one of UK’s loveliest high streets’

The Times has described the borough as being “fiercely proud of its heritage and protective of its independent retailers”. Greenwich is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike and the High Street is around the corner from well-loved landmarks of the borough such as the Cutty Sark, Greenwich market and Greenwich Park. The market is brimming with independent retailers selling their goods from food to jewellery to antiques.

Another is Mr Humbug if you are looking for an old-fashioned sweet shop in the borough. The Times recommends l’Hexagone for “the whiffiest cheeses outside of France”.

Being close to the river gives visitors the perfect opportunity to grab an Uber boat and head along the river Thames to see the sights of London from the water. Uber boat (Image: Newsquest) You can tap in, as you would on the tube, at North Greenwich or Greenwich pier and head all the way along to Putney if you choose or stop nearer to central London to do some sight-seeing. It’s not just the shopping in Greenwich that makes the area so busy, it is also home to numerous Bridgerton filming locations which people come from far and wide to visit.
