A McDonald's restaurant in Stockport has become one of the first in Greater Manchester to undergo an overhaul aimed at 'future-proofing' the chain. The branch on Sandy Lane in Reddish has re-opened after a refurb as part of the brand's 'Convenience of the future' programme. The new design has seen the creation of a separate area for takeaway couriers to pick up their orders which bosses say will 'create a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers.
' The front counter has been redesigned with specific areas for different sales channels which they say should lead to less congestion around touchscreens and shorter queues. The kitchen has also been reconfigured and expanded which is said will speed up orders and staff break rooms have also been upgraded McDonald's say: "While the traditional walk-in and Drive-Thru remain core to how customers order, the redesign of McDonald’s kitchens and dining areas as part of Convenience of the Future will better integrate digital sales channels, the McDonald’s App and make smarter use of internal space to enhance the dine in experience.
