Springbok RG Snyman and his wife Saskia were among thousands of South Africans living abroad who cast their special votes this weekend ahead of the general elections later this month. The couple live in Ireland, where the rugby star plays for club Leinster. According to the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC), over 70,000 citizens living overseas were registered to vote.

The elections will take place on Wednesday, 9 May. SPRINGBOK RG SNYMAN CASTS HIS VOTE In an Instagram post, Springbok RG Snyman and wife Saskia revealed that they had proudly cast their vote. The couple did so at the SA Embassy in Ireland.

Sharing pics of the special vote, the 29-year-old revealed that he had joined dozens of fellow South Africans who enjoyed banter and braai meat while they queued. He captioned the post: “Voting day yesterday in Dublin. Was so proud to see all the South Africans get together to vote from over here.

I had some great gees with people in the queue”. RG also gave a shout-out to a SA company that had set up shop to braai boerewors for hungry voters. “South Africa, get voting,” his wife Saskia captioned her Instagram Stories.

She also shared pics of their boerie rolls, which they enjoyed while waiting in line. Also voting abroad was SA TV personality Sade Giliberti, who lives in the UK. “The turnout today was beautiful to see,” she captioned pics of her casting her vote at Trafalgar Square in London.
