A PICTURESQUE village near Northwich has been crowned Cheshire's 'most stylish' place to live. Thanks to the beauty of its buildings and its stunning surrounds, Great Budworth was the county's highest ranked location in a list put together by Furniturebox. Other criteria looked at included how 'Instagrammable' the village's best features were, as well as it's popularity as a filming location.

Great Budworth is no stranger to visiting film crews, having appeared in period pieces and films, including Netflix's newest drama Missing You and the BBC's War of the Worlds . A spokesperson for online store Furniturebox, which polled 5,000 people to compile its list, said: “Great Budworth is the most stylish place to live in Cheshire. "All 60 places on the list would have been worthy winners and show why the UK is such a stylish country, loved by artists, film-makers and tourists from all over the world.

“What is interesting is how influential Instagram has become in boosting tourism in many of our top 60, particularly around Cheshire. "It is a massive help for visitor numbers, too, if a popular film or TV show uses a town or village as a location. "Most of the locations in the top 60 are not the most affluent or fashionable in their localities.
