Yesterday, Rishi Sunak announced a general election would be held on July 4 as the rain left him soaking and protestor Steve Bray blasted out ‘Labour anthem’ Things Will only Get Better , drowning out the Prime Minister’s speech. Hours after the announcement sent shock waves through Westminster, Grant, 52, appeared on BBC ’s Debate Night with host Stephen Jardine where he reflected on the last 14 years under Tory prime ministers David Cameron , Theresa May, Boris Johnson , Liz Truss and Sunak.
The fashion entrepreneur said: ‘I can’t help feeling that we have had a Conservative government that has done more harm and less good to both the country and the general population, than any government in my 50 years. ‘Most governments in the past, whatever way you vote, you could probably point to something they’ve done something better for somebody but I genuinely can’t think of anything this government has done that has made anything better for anybody. ‘I could probably spend the next hour listing things that they’ve made worse.
’ He also said it was ‘absolutely time’ for ‘better politics’, stressing his support for a General Election. Viewers applauded grant for summing up how a lot of the nation.
