AGE is just a number and one grandma proved just that as she walked the runway during Miami Swim Week. The 96-year-old woman wore a blue swimsuit as she appeared on the arm of two male models. Miami Beach native Gloria Mantell Pallot made history as she strutted her stuff for the famous fashion show on Sunday.
Pallot is the oldest person ever to participate in the official Miami Swim Week event. She spoke to 7 News , a local Fox affiliate, about her experience walking in the show. Pallot described feeling nervous because of her age but explained that she had put in work preparing for the event.
"I ride the bike, and then I do general exercises, you know, stretches, a lot in the chair, and then standing up and stretching," she said. Pallot also revealed her motivation for participating in the swimwear show. "My son’s girlfriend is a model, and they encouraged me to do it, my grandson and his girlfriend, that I should do it," she explained.
Pallot shared that she had "second thoughts" about walking in the show. She said that the last time she had walked down an aisle with so many eyes on her was on her wedding day 73 years ago. Now that she has been publically renowned for her beauty, Pallot shared some of the secrets to her long and healthy life.
"A positive attitude, and having lots of close friends and a good husband, and eating healthy and exercising," she said. The new model represented Love for Upcycling, a sustainable brand, at the fashion show. Pallot's presence at th.
