Two young hairdressers have beaten hundreds of entries to be named finalists in a national hairdressing competition. Sophie-Rose Goldsworthy and Lucy Boodell, both of Goldsworthy’s, are among the nominees for The It List, a distinguished industry event that showcases the brightest emerging talents in British and Irish hairdressing aged 30 or under. Ms Goldsworthy, who works in Swindon , is one of five finalists vying for the One To Watch award, while Ms Boodell, based in Cirencester, is a finalist in the Rising Star category.

The awards give recognition to the outstanding young talents who are making their mark not only through their creative prowess but also by being standout business-builders across barbering, session styling, freelance work, and salon spheres. Both nominees will be joining other finalists for the Most Wanted and It List final on September 2 at Beams in London.
The event will feature a guest list of more than 700 individuals to celebrate the announcement of this year's victors. Judging the six categories were expert names in hair, fashion, business, and media, who worked to pick 35 finalists. Among the judges were, leading salon owners Darren Fowler, Mark Woolley, and Lydia and Jack Wolfe, photographer Alex Barron-Hough, influencer Maddie Bruce, and session stylists Halley Bris.
