This is the first time she's played Glastonbury in her 22-year career Avril Lavigne made her debut performance on Glastonbury ‘s Other Stage today. Here’s what she played. In one of the weekend’s most highly-anticipated performances, Lavigne delighted fans with a setlist jam-packed with nostalgic hits.
The Canadian rock icon kicked off her Other Stage set with ‘Girlfriend’, followed by ‘What The Hell’ and ‘Complicated’. Later on she led fans in a cathartic sing-a-long to her 2002 hit ‘I’m With You’. Despite a storied career in rock music, it was Lavigne’s first time at Worthy Farm — a fact she herself seemed to have difficulty contending with.
“Holy shit, I can’t believe it’s taken me 22 years to actually be here,” she told fans, before adding with a smile: “Well, it is about time.” Her set highlighted the plethora of hits she’s delivered in career that’s spanned two-decades so far. Introducing ‘Complicated’, she asked the huge crowd: “Does anyone out there have a copy of my debut album?” 🎥 Avril Lavigne throwing it right back to (some of) our childhoods over on the Other Stage with ‘Complicated’ 🙌💥🔥 #Glastonbury #Glastonbury2024 pic.
