A couple who wanted pyjamas to match their colourful home turned it into a business - and now have customers across the world and celebrity fans. Jolene Crawford, 46, and Mil Stricevic, 57, started the brand Irregular Sleep Pattern from their flat. The couple, who have been together for 11 years, came up with the idea for PJs in crazy colours shortly after moving in together.
Inspired by their eclectic home decor and struggling to find bedding to match the pair began to discuss starting their own business. They say with three jobs and four children between them, plans were put on hold. But in 2017, after the couple hit milestone birthdays, TV producer Jolene wanted a change in career - and the pair took the plunge, creating Irregular Sleep Pattern.
Royal College of Art graduate Mil designing the garments, and Jolene handling the business side of things. The brand has now gone global, with customers ordering from around the world - and even attracting some celebrity fans. Comedian Joe Lycett has appeared on TV multiple times wearing their suits, including a custom suit featuring Lycett's own drawing of Harry Styles, which he wore on an episode of Channel 4's Late Night Lycett.
"We both really enjoy being playful with how we dress ourselves, but also with how we furnish our home," said Jolene. "Our home is a kind of joyful mash-up of all sorts of things, so when we moved in together and we were shopping for bedding, we couldn't find any fun, bold or cool bedding that was respon.
