MEDINA, Ohio -- The recent excessive heat has diminished and it’s time to venture out into the Medina County Parks for a bit of exercise and a dose of nature. The district’s staff is offering a variety of exercise options at several different parks: 6:15 to 8 p.m.
July 5, Chippewa Rail Trail. Ages 12 to adult. Meet at the Chippewa Yacht Club; the entrance is just past the Oaks Restaurant on Longacre Lane in the Village of Chippewa Lake.
Bike Medina County is a nonprofit group advocating for cycling safety, education and infrastructure in Medina County. Join other cycling enthusiasts for a guided 8- to 10-mile ride through parts of the Medina County parks and adjacent areas. Children must be accompanied by a parent.
All riders must wear helmets and bright clothes. Water bottles and gloves, as well as front and rear blinking lights, are highly recommended. Waivers will be provided and must be signed.
Meet at 6:15 p.m., as rides begin promptly at 6:30.
A s’more and campfire social will follow the ride. Mentally, being in the outdoors reduces symptoms of stress and anxiety. Physically, hiking is great for your heart, blood pressure and muscles.
