FOLLOWING the success of Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 remake, there were a number of rumours about the next games to come to the series. Resident Evil 9 will be the next mainline game in the series, but other remakes are also expected. As Resident Evil 1 through 4 have all received ground up remakes, completely changing the game for modern consoles, fans expected these to continue.
While Resident Evil 5 and 6 are less popular than other entries in the series, people still expect remakes for these games to be released. However, not only are these games apparently in the works, but a number of other Resident Evil games too. PlayAsia is an online storefront which features games from a number of different Asian countries, as well as some Western ones.
The Resident Evil series is developed by Japanese developer Capcom, though the games have often been released in Japan and North America around the same time. However, it’s not unusual that upcoming games would first appear on PlayAsia as the website often has long pre-order times. Four Resident Evil games appeared on PlayAsia recently including Resident Evil 9 with previously unseen artwork.
The cover features two shadowy figures which appear to be popular protagonists Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine from the series. A Resident Evil 5 remake is also listed on the site, but it is listed using artwork from the original release. Another remake which fans were pleased to see on the website is the remake of fan favour.
