A man, known for his particular eating habits, spends an additional £300 to bring his own food on holiday, despite his wife shelling out £1,400 for all-inclusive vacations. John Phillips fills a suitcase with Pot Noodles, crisps, biscuits and sausages to ensure he can savour 'good old-fashioned English' meals while overseas. His wife, Rebecca Phillips, started packing food for her husband three years ago when he would only eat chips during their international trips.
The mother of one then began increasing the variety of items she'd pack for her selective spouse - stuffing an entire suitcase with sweets, chocolate bars, porridge pots and packets of sausages and bacon for their fortnight-long excursions. They even include a George Foreman grill in their checked luggage so that lorry driver trainer John can relish bacon and sausage sandwiches while away. On last year's trip to Egypt, the couple carried 21 Pot Noodles, 86 bags of crisps, two packets of bacon, a pack of 30 sausages, cans of tuna, a block of cheese and brown sauce.

The hefty stash, including the fee to check in another suitcase, cost the family an extra £300 on top of the £1,400 bill for the all-inclusive holiday. Rebecca, a 29-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, doesn't mind the extra luggage her husband.
