The funeral of the murdered dad-of-four Mark Carroll, who was stabbed to death in a house in west Dublin nearly two weeks ago is set to take place on Saturday. Tragic Mark, 34, from Finglas , died from stab wounds after he was attacked in the property in the Scribblestown area of Finglas at around 1am on Sunday, June 9 following a row with a man who has already served time in prison for killing a woman. He was treated at the scene and rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A garda spokesperson said a murder investigation is being led by a Senior Investigation Officer (SIO) from an Incident Room at Finglas Garda station. It is understood the suspect has gone on the run with officers suspecting that a pal may be protecting him and helping him to evade gardai.
Mark's heartbroken family are now preparing for his funeral and cremation which will take place on Saturday. In a notice on RIP.ie, his family said "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mark tragically.
