A petition has been launched to make a Staffordshire road safer after three teenagers were killed in a horror crash. Dafydd Hûw Craven-Jones, 18, and Morgan Jones, 17, died after the Ford Ka they were travelling in crashed on Cannock Road in Penkridge just before midnight on Saturday, May 25. Sophie Bates, who was also in the car, was taken to hospital but sadly died three days later on Tuesday, May 28.

The 17-year-old was from Stafford, police have said. A fourth teenager, also a 17-year-old girl, was taken to hospital following the incident and has since been discharged. And now a friend of the teens has launched a petition calling for the council to make the road safer 'near the bridge' following the fatal crash.

Suggestions included more street lighting, signs or flattening of the bridge.
