Watercolor artist and GTU regular Pam Baumeister teaches us the magic of capturing the essence of a place with a few watercolor strokes. She tells us you can freeze time on paper, from bustling streets to quiet cafes. Think you can’t paint? Pam will prove you wrong.
Painting can be as calming as meditation. “Ever notice the small beauties around you? Painting sharpens your eyes. Let’s observe and create, and find beauty everywhere we look”, Pam says.
We see an example of a watercolor journal, full of meaningful locations with blurbs to accompany, all to preserve the details. We capture a recent experience from Deena, a gelato outing in NYC. We’re amazed at the result! Pam has two paintings in the Freedom Fest Art Exhibition at the Covey Center in Provo that opens July 3rd and runs through September.
There’s also a booth inside the County Courthouse on July 4th and 5th. Go say hello to Pam, and peruse and purchase your own piece. Pam will be doing both an in-person watercolor travel journaling class and an online travel journaling class.
