Alex Partridge, founder of LADBible and UNILAD, has shared five personality traits he claims are related to his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). As the host of the ADHD Chatter Podcast, Alex chats with experts and others with ADHD to learn more about how the condition affects them, their world and their relationship with others. In a recent video uploaded to the podcast’s TikTok page, Alex listed five traits he experiences, in the hopes of raising awareness about the condition.
He said: “We don’t miss people. I don’t think about you because my brain is too fast. "Object permanence means unless you’re right in front of me, you cease to exist.
I only think about you when I stop to think about you, and then in those moments I can hyper focus on the memories and burst into tears. “Number two - we can listen to the same song or eat the same food over and over again until we no longer find it pleasurable. We do this because we crave dopamine and it’s easier to gravitate towards something we know rather than deal with the overwhelm of finding something new.
” He added: “Number three - if you ask us for a quick chat without any context, our minds will jump to the worst case scenario. This is because we’ve been made to feel like we’re broken our whole lives, so when someone says they want to talk to us, we’ll catastrophize, we’ll get fired or dumped, and we won’t sleep until we get some reassurance that our world isn’t about to end. “Numb.
