SYR The Syracuse City Ballet has reached a settlement with six dancers it fired last year after a finding by the National Labor Relations Board that the troupe violated the artists’ rights.
The settlement, which includes back pay and an apology, was announced today via a news release on behalf of the fired dancers, Abigail Stewart, Lucy Hamilton, Claire Solis, Cara Connolly, Xavier Pugliese-Ciulei, and Lukas Figliozzi. They were fired after striking against Syracuse City Ballet last fall, and have since gone on to form a new separate troupe, Central New York Ballet Co..
