Closed since the coronavirus pandemic, FareStart Restaurant is ready to return with its hot-ticket Guest Chef Nights, featuring local culinary stars like Rachel Yang, Victor Steinbrueck and Ethan Stowell. Guest Chef Nights will commence June 27 at the Denny Triangle restaurant, which will reopen with counter-service breakfast and lunch starting in early July. FareStart is the James Beard Award-winning Seattle nonprofit that provides restaurant-industry job training to those experiencing homelessness and other economic challenges, while providing meals to many.

More Seats are coveted for these fundraising dinners, in which top local chefs work with FareStart students to create multicourse menus served in the elegant, high-ceilinged dining room. Tickets are $50, and reservations will go on sale four weeks prior to each chef’s night via farestart.org/events/guest-chef-night .

The full roster is: Revenue from Guest Chef Nights supports FareStart’s programming, including the free four-month restaurant-industry training, which also extends help with housing, substance-use recovery support, mental health counseling and job search. Two FareStart Cafés host the organization’s free two-month barista training program in South Lake Union and on Beacon Hill. More FareStart has nearly 15,000 alums of its programs and has served 19 million meals to Seattle-area schools, nonprofit organizations and homeless shelters since starting in 1992.
