Monday, July 8, 2024 Butler National Corporation (OTCQX: BUKS), a leading player in the global market for specialized aircraft structural modification, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), as well as a respected provider of gaming management services, has announced a significant achievement through its subsidiary, Avcon Industries, Inc. Avcon has been granted Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for two significant modifications on Textron/Cessna Model 208B airplanes. STC SA04639CH has been granted for the installation of Avcon’s dual camera port and the “Special Mission Pod” modification on Cessna Model 208 and 208B Caravan/Grand Caravan aircraft.
These FAA-approved enhancements allow for the simultaneous installation, providing approximately 80 cubic feet of additional space within the fuselage-mounted pod. This space is designed to accommodate sensors, cameras, and radars with a complete 360-degree range. Avcon’s dual camera ports are specifically designed for compatibility with the lower fuselage pod, facilitating the installation of cabin-mounted Lidar and camera sensors.
