on Thursday. The new Okanagan event is the brainchild of Conor O'Brien and his partner Max Standen owners of Okanagan Luxury Boat Club in Kelowna in partnership with TwentyFourSeven Exotics . "It's a free scavenger hunt.
There's a coin that's hidden somewhere here in the Okanagan, it's pretty simple," O'Brien says. This isn't the pair's first effort they have run similar events in Edmonton and Calgary so they decided to make the coverage area very large, basically from Peachland to Fintry on both sides of the lake. The scavenger hunt itself is free but if you want to ask for a clue that will cost you $20.
"You just buy it directly off the 24/7 Exotic website that we partnered with." "The first one we did in Edmonton was found in 15 minutes. So from a business standpoint, it didn't really work out great for us, versus the last one, which went on for about three weeks before it was finally found," Standen says.
The actual coin is approximately 2.5 cm and will be stashed in a secret location somewhere between Fintry and Peachland. "It's a pretty large area that's why the riddles will give you a rough idea of the area at least you're looking in.
That's the fun part, essentially it's like a journey. Just follow the breadcrumbs, if you follow the clues or the riddles, or just get really lucky you .
