Qatar Airways, recognized as the World’s Best Airline in 2024 by Skytrax, has inaugurated daily direct services from Doha to Hamburg, marking its 49th European and fifth German destination. This new route is expected to enhance international economic and trade connections, potentially boosting the cargo sector in Hamburg.
Today, the inaugural Qatar Airways flight touched down at Hamburg Airport (HAM) from Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, which has been named the best airport for retail and overall service this year by Skytrax. Hamburg joins Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, and Munich as the airline’s destinations in Germany, catering to the growing demand in the region. Last year, the airline reported a 62% increase in passenger traffic from Germany.
The service expands Qatar Airways’ extensive network, now covering over 170 global destinations. It provides seamless connections for travelers in northern Germany to Doha and further enhances Hamburg’s global accessibility. The new flights are set to bolster economic and trade links between northern Germany and regions such as Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, with cargo operations in Hamburg anticipated to grow by up to 11% over the previous year.
