EXCLUSIVE: Tabu on her easy equation with Ajay Devgn ahead of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha release: “Neither of us take each other for granted”

The upcoming Bollywood film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, starring the powerhouse duo of Ajay Devgn and Tabu, has generated excitement ever since its trailer release. This Neeraj Pandey directorial venture promises a unique take on the classic love story, exploring the complexities of a bond that endures the test of time, but with a twist.Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha deviates from the typical Bollywood love story formula. While romance remains the central theme, director Neeraj Pandey, known for his acclaimed thrillers like A Wednesday! and Special 26, takes a more nuanced approach. The film delves into the intricate dynamics of a relationship between Devgn and Tabu's characters, who are forced to navigate a path of separation due to their personal choices. The love story unfolds over a significant timeframe of 22 years.Tabu, in a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, expressed her excitement about reuniting with Ajay Devgn on screen. The two actors have a long history of successful collaborations, delivering memorable performances in films like Bholaa and Vijaypath. When asked if Devgn has changed at all, Tabu said, “He hasn’t changed at all. I am sure he must have gone through his own changes, internally. But, I feel both of us have the same criteria to say yes to a film or work ethic, that we have had previously. Infact, it is not like he has changed his choice of movies – he has always done different stuff. He has done formula films but he has also done experiment films. That part about him is still the same.”Tabu also said that it is advantageous to know someone for that long and it feels like you will be taken care of on set. “It’s a great advantage. What we say off-screen has a place of its own. When we submit ourselves to the scripts or what we are supposed to do, we know exactly how to change around that equation. Neither of us take each other for granted,” she added.Ajay Devgn and Tabu have previously worked Vijaypath (1994), Haqeeqat (1995), Thakshak (1999), Drishyam (2015), Fitoor (2016), Golmaal Again (2017), De De Pyaar De (2019), Drishyam 2 (2022) and Bholaa (2023. In total, Ajay Devgn and Tabu have starred in nine films together, with most of them featuring them as lead actors.As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, the film will not release this week. This was confirmed by the makers on July 2.
