EUTAWVILLE -- A mother/daughter-owned and operated store specializing in locally made products and goods has opened in Eutawville. Holly Hill's Alicia Cantey Bilton and her mother, Debra Altman Cantey, have opened The Local at 305 Porcher Ave. The store is located in the former Eutaw Outfitters.
The Local is an artisan market and boutique that sells gifts, apparel, art and handcrafted items made in South Carolina. The store celebrated its grand opening Saturday, May 4. "My mom Debra and I had this vision to create a store front that would allow the local artisan community to come together in a space to sell their work and inspire collaboration and partnerships amongst community vendors," Bilton said.

"Our storefront concept is one that we are very proud of, because we feel it is both advantageous to the vendor as well as the shopper," Bilton said. "The vendors get the additional exposure to their products and the shoppers get to partake in a one-of-a-kind shopping experience featuring small batch, locally made products that they can’t find anywhere else." The store has partnered with over 15 hand-selected South Carolina vendors to serve as a one-stop shop for products produced locally or within the state.
"We were very intentional in crafting a store that was different," Bilton continued. "We hand selected vendors, we were mindful.
