The most recent contest was overshadowed by the disqualification of the Dutch act, Joost Klein , following allegations he made verbal threats to a female staff member, alongside the contentious inclusion of Israeli singer Eden Golan amidst escalating tensions in Gaza. In response to the tumultuous events, Eurovision organisers have confirmed to PA news agency that they are initiating a review, in statement that said: "The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) seeks to continuously improve its services and events." It added, "To further strengthen the Eurovision Song Contest, we have asked an independent expert to look at ESC 2024 in Malmo to share insights and learnings with the EBU's governing bodies to support the continuous improvement of this global event."
