A huge warehouse in a “prime position” in Bolton is about to be occupied. This comes after hygiene and health product company Essity decided to move from its old home on Mansell Way, Horwich to the Bolton 280 warehouse at the Wingates Industrial Estate. Essity will now move to take up the entire complex of 280,698 square feet of warehousing and 16,810 square feet of offices.

Avison Young director James Goode, who acted on behalf of Essity in the deal, said: “The company continues to make significant investment in the region and wanted a high quality logistics building to help support its growing sales operation. “I was delighted to secure this significant building for Essity within constrained operational timescales." The site is also close to Logistics North, another of the borough’s most significant economic hubs that has grown rapidly in recent years. Moving to the site signals a major step forward for Essity in the region, already a major international employer with around 36,000 staff across 150 countries. It’s UK operation employs around 1,000 people across six sites , including in Bolton, at Trafford Park and at Stubbins Mill in Ramsbottom.

The company will now be able to move into Bolton 280 at Wingates thanks to a 10 year lease deal agreed with Kn.
