Thursday, May 30, 2024 The iconic Emirates cabin crew uniform is widely recognized as a symbol of the world’s largest international airline and its commitment to providing a superior flying experience. In a step towards enhancing this iconic attire, Emirates has now given its female cabin crew the freedom to select from 15 different shoe styles, ensuring they can prioritize their own comfort and personal style while on duty. The range of footwear, crafted from 100% leather in Spain, includes various options for both men and women, designed to offer the perfect blend of comfort, style, and fit.

The latest update for the female crew includes shoes and a matching handbag in a vibrant red shade that enhances the uniform’s pleated skirt and trim details. Initially worn in red at the airline’s inception in 1985, the shoe color briefly shifted to brown before returning to its original red. Female crew members now receive two pairs of red leather shoes annually—a flat option for the cabin and a choice between medium or high heels, while male crew members are provided with new shoes every nine months.

The Emirates uniform has evolved significantly since its introduction, with the latest design being unveiled on July 28, 2008, during the ceremonial delivery of Emirates’ first A380 at the Airbus factory in Hamburg, Germany. The uniform was a collaborative creation between the Emirates in-house team and Simon Jersey, a prominent UK uniform manufacturer. Colored in warm sand ton.
