EASTENDERS fans have been left with a mystery tonight after a legendary character made a return to Walford - but with a huge twist. The fan favourite character was mentioned briefly having been in Albert Square tonight but he wasn’t seen or noticed. Tonight’s episode saw Keanu Taylor finally laid to rest after he was killed six months ago.
His mother Karen made a shock return for the funeral but she was very much alone. “Hardly anyone’s going,” Karen said as Kat Slater offered her comfort in the cafe. “Chatham, Riley, Mitch.

Mitch thinks something’s going to happen to Bailey. He’s got her under lock and key.” However while it appeared to be just Karen, daughter Bernie, step-nephew Felix and their pal Chelsea at the funeral, later in the episode it was confirmed another major character had actually returned.
Keanu’s younger brother Keegan had flown all the way from Germany to attend. But in a bizarre twist, he wasn’t seen in the episode at all. Instead fans only discovered he was back by a throwaway scene towards the end of the episode.
At her house Sonia took a phone call from her niece Tiffany, Keegan’s wife. She told her: “Yes, Keegan went straight to the airport.” It left fans confused with one writing: “Sonia's call to Tiff implies that Keegan only went for the service and then went to the airport, but the way it was scripted does leave the possibility that he over-slept and was on his way to the airport too late.
