EAMONN Holmes and Ruth Langsford have issued a statement announcing their intention to divorce. TV's golden couple were married in 2010 after being introduced by mutual friends all the way back in 1991 and presented This Morning for 15 years together. The news will come as a shock to the millions of fans who watched the pair each day on TV.
A spokesperson told fans about their split in a short but sweet statement. It read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” The pair hadn't been seen together for over two years , lasting appearing alongside one another in a social media skit on Instagram.
Pals told The Sun on Sunday how the couple drifted apart in recent months. Their work commitments “took them in different directions”, sources said. But the pair were determined to stay friends and “keep things amicable”.
In a sign of their determination to keep things amicable, Ruth has been continuing to nurse Eamonn back to good health following a medical scare which left him struggling to walk. Days ago the 64-year-old Loose Women host updated fans on Eamonn's health by saying: “I look at Eamonn, who’s had his health and back problems, and it makes you realise how important your health is. “I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve.
We live in hope. He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100 percent right.” More to follow.
