ANC politician Mduduzi Manana – a former Deputy Minister of Education – has come under fire for wearing high-end designer labels to canvass votes ahead of the elections. The flashy MP – who is also a businessman – had social media users shocked by his fashion splurges. The general elections take place on Wednesday, 29 May.
ANC OFFICIAL WEARS LV DURING DOOR-TO-DOOR TRAIL In pics posted on the X platform, ANC politician Mduduzi Manana is seen making a very fashionable appearance during the political party’s campaign trail. And his brand of choice is the French designer label Louis Vuitton, wearing sneakers, shoes and tote bags worth tens of thousands. In the pics, Manana wore his designer labels as he chatted to old grannies, spaza shop owners and community leaders.
X user @VusiSambo tweeted: “Elections come & go, but drip is forever. “Mduduzi Manana is always dripping. His drip is so hard that he rarely ever steps outside without Louis Vuitton pieces on his back, hand, or feet.
He sarcastically added: “You can’t claim to be a true revolutionary sent to liberate our people from the legacy of apartheid, poverty, unemployment, and such whilst looking dirt-cheap & broke in Truworths Man apparel & shoes.” On his own Instagram account, Manana has posted pics of his door-to-door campaign wearing his Louis Vuitton and Louboutin sneakers in various shades and styles.
