Film Forres and Moray Operatic and Dramatic Society (MODS) are organising a celebration of the 1975 musical/comedy/horror, encouraging attendees to “dress to impress” and sing-along to the action. MODS secretary Fiona Grant said: “Step into a world of glitz, glamour, and spine-tingling excitement at the MODS’ cinematic evening! “Join us for a thrilling screening of the cult classic, where the silver screen comes alive with infectious energy and unforgettable performances.
Get ready to dance the ‘Time Warp’ and immerse in a night of sensational entertainment!” The screenplay was co-written by Richard O'Brien, who is also a member of the cast. The production is a tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the 1930s through to the early 1960s. Along with O'Brien, the film stars Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick.
The story centres on a young couple whose car breaks down in the rain near a castle, where they search for help. The castle is occupied by strangers in elaborate costumes celebrating. They discover the head of the house is a mad scientist who creates a living muscle-man named Rocky.
Frank seduces the couple and it is finally revealed he is actually an alien transvestite from the planet Transsexual in the galaxy of Transylvania. Costume designer Sue Blane claims her creat.
