Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt has revealed she is pregnant with her first child. The 43-year-old actor, who starred as Anna Bates in the hit ITV period drama, revealed the happy news on the red carpet at Tuesday’s Into Film Awards as she cradled her baby bump and posed for pictures. Joanne married longterm boyfriend James Cannon in October 2012 and eight years later in February 2020 she confirmed they had separated.

They never had any children together. ‘We’ve actually been separated for a little while,’ she explained in an interview with The Telegraph at the time. ‘I’m looking to the future.
