The AAP has expressed disagreement with the High Court’s decision to stay the bail granted to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal by a trial court even as the BJP welcomed the development terming him the “main accused” in the AAP’s Chief National Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said the trial court “found no evidence” linking Kejriwal to the case, noting that “not a single penny has been recovered in the two-year investigation”. “This entire alleged scam is fabricated and scripted in the BJP office. When you read the trial court order, it addresses all the relevant documents, leaving out what the court deemed as irrelevant documents after scrutiny,” she told reporters.
“The HC ordered stay without even looking at the trial court order. We do not agree with this decision; we will act as per legal advice.” she added.
Advertisement Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said the AAP convener’s “involvement” in the case had been established. “The HC itself had a hearing on April 9, during which it stated that Kejriwal’s arrest is legally valid..
.,” he alleged. “It is Kejriwal’s prerogative if he wishes to approach the Supreme Court, as the beauty of the country’s law is that every criminal gets multiple opportunities to go to court,” he added.
