Wednesday, June 19, 2024 Yulin Boosts Local Big Health Industry with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Cultural Festivities Yulin, a city in southern China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, has recently accelerated the development of its local big health industry through a series of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)-related cultural activities. During the 14th China (Yulin) Traditional Chinese Medicine Expo and the 2024 Yulin Dragon Boat Festival Cultural Carnival on June 10, the city showcased its vibrant cultural scene. The event featured a dragon boat race, symbolizing the region’s rich heritage.
Known as the “TCM capital in southern China,” Yulin hosted the TCM expo to highlight the integration of TCM culture with modern practices. This year’s expo coincided with the Dragon Boat Festival, drawing significant attention and paving the way for 12 new investment programs in medical equipment, food processing, cultural tourism, and TCM plantations. Fan Xiaohua, deputy mayor of Yulin, underscored the city’s big health industry potential during the expo’s opening ceremony.
Attendees, including experts and business leaders, were captivated by presentations blending TCM wisdom with cultural expressions. Yulin boasts the third largest TCM trading market in China, with annual transactions exceeding 12 billion yuan, as noted by Wang Chen, Party chief of Yulin. Visitors to the expo explored various pavilions showcasing local medical products and TCM plantation technolo.
