Dieffenbach’s Snacks is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a fresh, new look; a packaging upgrade; and a brand-new party mix containing corn chips, pretzels, cheese curls and tortilla chips. “We figured that a party mix would be a fun way to celebrate our anniversary,” said Robert Zender, director of marketing. “It’s got a little bit of everything in it.

Founded in 1964 when dairy farmer Mark Dieffenbach started making potato chips in the kitchen of his Womelsdorf, Berks County home, the company grew quickly as the chips gained popularity and started being sold in local shops and grocery stores. “Once the word got out, it became clear that the potato chips were going to be a full-time business,” Zender said. “The kitchen got to be too small, so Mark built a little plant in his garage.
” The Womelsdorf location has been expanded several times since then, and in 2018 a new warehouse and processing plant opened .
