and have been a couple for more than five years now, and rumours about their and a possible secret wedding have been doing the rounds practically since day dot. Unfortunately for us, the ultra-private pair have kept famously schtum about everything relationship-related, side-stepping all manner of gossip like pros and keeping us constantly guessing. So when photos popped up on Instagram earlier this week of sporting a beautifully floaty, feminine and -looking , it's safe to say that our hearts skipped a beat.

Alas, it was a false alarm; simply another glorious look put together by stylist Kate Young for the press tour of Dakota's upcoming film The dress in question was an ethereal design by , featuring a semi-sheer, floaty ivory material, plunging neckline, hint of side-boob, slinky silhouette and elegant cape detail. The actor styled it with black heeled mules to add some edge, a pair of black jade earrings, and her hair in soft waves worn half-up, half-down with an ivory ribbon pinned at the back. While not the long-anticipated wedding look we'd been hoping for, it did get us thinking about what Dakota wear, if the occasion ever did arise.

.. And we're pretty sure this is exactly the kind of vibe she would go for.

The actor has worn many a white look over the years, from sophisticated tuxedo minis and to floaty lace gowns. But this most recent look is by far her most classically bridal to date – and, we'd argue, the most on-brand for her to wear if she were to venture down.
