, has always been different. Ours is a hardcore punk scene of deeply committed, highly disciplined self-documenters working in the long shadows of Bad Brains and Minor Threat: zine makers, documentary film folk , punk librarians , and, of course, record labels. More often than not, the cracks are pried open and the music is lifted out of the void.
