Crocker Park, 177 Market St. in Westlake, kicks off summer June 9 with an enormous, community block party where guests can climb in and out of local law enforcements’ vehicles that will be on display, according to a news release. In partnership with Hermes Sports & Events, the day will start at 9:30 a.

m. with the Crocker Bark 5K presented by Elite K911 in support of the Westlake Police K9 Unit, the release said. Runners, walkers, and their dogs are all welcome.

At 11 a.m., the streets of Crocker Park will be closed for the block party, in partnership with the Westlake police, fire and service departments, according to the release.

All are welcome to attend this free event which will include: • Meet-and-Greet with Westlake Police Department law enforcement officers, SWAT, Bomb Unit, Westlake Fire Department and more. • Touch-A-Truck event allowing access inside display vehicles • Westlake Police Department K-9 Unit demonstrations 11:30 a.m.

at Market Square lawn • Live music with a cast of characters of near West Theater • Chalk Zone for creating your own beautiful artwork sponsored by Ryan Homes • Face painting and balloon twister • Mad Science shows at noon and 2 p.m.; with an exploration table from 11 a.

m. to 3 p.m.

with fire and ice • Real Pop Fusion giveaways, games, dance parties and more • Realm of the Reptiles show at 1:30 p.m. and meet and greets with their slithery friends.
