It’s been reported that COVID levels are as low as they have ever been which is really good news...
BUT...
...
There’s another variant lurking in the weeds that has the potential for carrying COVID through the Summer and into the Fall. So this means we need to be vigilant..
.especially individuals over 65..
. and not feel that COVID in whatever form is no longer with us. We cannot and should not let our guard down.
...
.COVID is still here. There’s still a lot of “over the fence” gossip about the vaccination process and whether or not it’s effective.
I do think agreement has been reached that while vaccination may not fully prevent someone from contracting COVID, a vaccination will minimize the effects of COVID on an individual. Differences about COVID are very similar to the differences regarding Polio that were encountered as many of us were growing up. There was a strong belief in the pre-Salk era that swimming in a public swimming pool made you vulnerable to Polio and a candidate for an Iron Lung.
So to protect us from Polio in the summer our parents took us to the irrigation ditches that were abundant in Phoenix at the time to go swimming...
.the water was clear , cold, and refreshing..
.and no one contracted Polio. It is amazing what a sugar cube can do for you ! The US Food and Drug Administration’s vaccine advisory committee will meet in June to discuss recommendations for the version of the COVID vaccine that will be available this fall.
This meeting will provi.
