With plans well underway for fourth of July celebrations, people in the community are being asked to sign up early for events and to help run events. According to a media release from the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GMCCI), registration for the Independence Day parade has started. com/events/muscatines-4th-of-july-celebration/ . The deadline to register for the parade is June 27 and no late entries will be accepted. The parade is $50 for individuals and non-profits and $100 for business advertisers.
The funds will go to the 2025 fireworks display. The parade will be held at 4 p.m.
in downtown Muscatine with a grand prize of $300 to the best of show “overall” float and $50 to the best vehicle and mayor’s choice. “Let's come together as a community to show our patriotism and honor those who have served our country. Bring your family and friends for a day of fun and celebration,” said Brad Bark, GMCCI President & CEO and Muscatine Mayor.
After the parade, GMCCI and Keep Muscatine Beautiful have partnered for Almost Fireworks Fest on the riverfront. The event will feature music, food vendors, a beverage tent, bounce houses and more. This year’s military guest of honor and parade marshal is Rear Admiral Pamela Miller.
Miller, a native of Muscatine, is the Medical Officer of the United States Marine Corps and Vice Chief, Bureau of Medicine Reserve Policy and Integr.
