More info Coronation Street legend Julie Goodyear is reportedly 'quite happy', according to her close friend Mark Llewellin, who recently provided fans with an update on her health amidst her ongoing battle with dementia. The 81-year-old actress's husband, Scott Brand, publicly announced her diagnosis in June of the previous year. Prior to her diagnosis, she had been grappling with a range of symptoms for several years.

The revelation that her condition could "progressively, and perhaps speedily, worsen" left her husband devastated. Since the announcement of her diagnosis, there have been occasional health updates from Scott and others. Most recently, her friend Mark - who was the partner of her late co-star Roy Barraclough - humorously noted that she still has a fondness for leopard print, a nod to her iconic Coronation Street character Bet Lynch, and continues to enjoy afternoon tea with her friends.

Mark visits her regularly and spoke about her current condition on the Conversation Street podcast: "Julie is living a good life, really. She still loves leopard print, I'm pleased to say. I see her at least once a week, sometimes twice a week, and spend a few hours with her and hav.
