Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver recently shared a disappointing turn of events following her departure from the UK for sunnier climes. Best known for her portrayal of Eileen Grimshaw on the popular soap, Sue took on what she describes as her "dream" job earlier this year. The 60-year old-actress played Mother Superior in the stage adaptation of the well-known show, Sister Act: The Musical.
While chatting on ITV's Lorraine in March, Sue discussed her part and its possible ramifications for her character on Corrie. In response to questions about her return to the beloved show, she reassured everyone: "Yes absolutely. I have a few months grace to do this job then I'll be back in there.
" Sue wrapped up her part in Sister Act last month but seems to be having a hiatus from Corrie, revealing in a new social media post that disaster had struck while she was enjoying a day at the beach, according to the Liverpool Echo . Addressing the camera whilst standing in a beautiful beach's crystal clear waters, Sue lamented: "You know sometimes I think the sea likes to show us who's in charge, but it's certainly not us. Because it's just swallowed my flip flops.
" She gestured out to sea saying: "They're out there somewhere," before letting loose a hefty sigh. Discussing her Sister Act role on Lorraine in March, the actress explained it's been more than 30-years since she's been on stage, the actress said theatre has always been her first love, adding: "A chance to take on a role like this feel.
